Sorry for the late email as usual. In case you don't know, the Lloyd's is under new management who have some pretty big plans for the upstairs of the pub. How long we can continue to use the space before they rip it out to make way for an Actual Music Venue!!! is currently unknown, but until the refit happens they are good with us using the room, so please come with your instruments and songs and poems and tunes to the very last or maybe the antepenultimate ...

in the upstairs room of the Lloyds Hotel, Chorlton, Friday 26 May 2023, from 8:30pm. The Cot Flock is a cross between an open mic night and a folk club except there is no microphone or folk music. Everyone welcome, even those with beards. (£2 in) (big raffle)

As we are already aware from our previous missive, the Bullhorn Cot Flock is occurring this Friday at 20:30 in the upstairs room of that Lloyds Hotel, Chorlton.

Please bring yourself and an instrument and give us a tune, or bring yourself and a book of poems and do one of those. If you're stuck for ideas then why not jump on the coronation band wagon and cover 'quiche lightning'? Or just anything by King Tubby.

I've ordered some union jack bunting off Ebay, so if that arrives from China in time I'll decorate the room a bit and we'll have right royal do.

As an administrative side note, I'd like to make you aware of a typographical error that resulted in the absence of all November dates in my previous email. If you would like a full list of future dates with November included please send me a self addressed email and I will return it to you with the corrected list of dates.

The Bullhorn Cot The Flock is meeting on 31st March 2023 at the Lloyds, Chorlton, in that upstairs room. 8:30pm!

I can't make it as I mistakenly thought that, well never mind what I thought. I got my dates mixed up and thought that this Friday was next Friday and the. Oh no this is really confusing. Look. The bullhorn Cot flock will generally occur on the last Friday of the month. For months with more days, it's a bit of a bigger gap between cot-flocks than for those months with less days. If this is a problem and anyone would like to discuss options then I would be all in favour of a metric calendar system. Removing the ridiculous months of July and August, placing October back in it's rightful place as the eighth month and giving each month a uniform 36.525 days each. If we can get that sorted then our cot flock could meet on a more regular basis. Assuming changes are not made to the global calendaring system I tentatively provide below dates for all future cot-flocks

As I’ve probably already mentioned in the last three emails… The Christmas/Skintmas Bullhorn Cot Flock Special is this Friday 16 December at the Lauriston Club, Manchester Road, Chorlton. I think I speak for everyone who was there when I say we really enjoyed the away day at the Lauriston Club last month – so much so that I’ve booked the place for the 16th DECEMBER for a Christmas do. I don’t know how many Christmas songs I can stand so please tell me if you have a good idea for a theme, otherwise the theme will inevitably be ‘Christmas crap’

Yes that’s right folks – !CHANGE oF VENUE – Come to the Lauriston!

The cot flock, as you well know, is a open-mic-without-a-mic-type-of-night. Normally we meet at the upstairs at the Lloyds but they’ve taken a huge booking for the room so we’re relocating as a one-off to the Laurie. There will be a piano to play or you can bring an instrument of your very own.

Free entry and I guess that means a free raffle too!

I am pleased to announce that the Bullhorn Cot Flock is back at the Lloyds for another Friday night special this coming Friday 25th March at 8:30pm.

The Cot Flock relies on you coming and doing a turn. Live. Without any electrical twaddle, so please, do be a good egg, and come along with an instrument, sing us a song or a play a tune or a do us a poem or whatever it is that you reckon constitutes art.

The Bullhorn Cot Flock is a night of music by the people, for the people. I have, in previous emails, refereed to us as ‘Comrades’ and made light of me sitting on the ‘Central Committee’. I have however, in light of Russia’s recent deplorable actions, withdrawn from using words that could be construed as glorifying Soviet style communism.

And um. . . I’ve rather lost my chain of thought here.

Dear Cot Flock Folks, The central Flock Committee would like to invite you to the second one-off live in-real-life Cot Flock the total once-in-a-lifetime live BULLHORN COT FLOCK (part 2) Friday 25th February, 8:30pm upstairs at the Llyods in Chorlton, Wilbraham Road, Chorlton.

Join us for a evening of songs and poems and tunes and drones or whatever it is you bring to this kind of thing. I’ll bring an imitation piano and an old guitar that you may hit together to make sounds with, please bring your own musical weaponry if you require more sophistication.

£2 on the door, we’ll have a raffle, no big zooming telly this time and em, there’s a bar downstairs or bring a 2 liter bottle of diamond white if you want to get us all chucked out!

the live in-person real actual BULLHORN COT FLOCK

12th November, 8:30pm in the upstairs bit of the Lloyd’s hotel, Wilbraham Road, Chorlton.

Please come and sing us a song, play us a tune or whistle us a poem. Bring with you an instrument if you can sort of play it. I’ll bring my piano so you don’t need to bring yours.

This will be the first ever Cot Flock where we don’t meet sat on opposing ends of a computer network, however, we are keen to get people who can’t be there to come along. This will involve a giant telly screen being setup in the Lloyd’s which we can beam you onto. If you would like to be beamed into the event please let us know in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.

We will send out more details once we’ve made them up, but for now please stick the date in your diary and we look forward to seeing you there!
